Glitter Birthday

For: Aunt Julie
Occasion: her birthday

My aunt has six children. For her birthday card, I wanted to create something calming, so I used blues and a dominant circle shape. In the circle, there's a swirly design that I filled in with my new glitter glue! The text reads, "aunt julie."

On the inside. the concept is repeated in an oval shape and a "happy birthday!" wish.
I hope Aunt Julie has a nice and relaxing day!

Mountain Hand Birthday

For: Sofi
Occasion: her birthday

Sofi is a physical therapist who specializes in hands and she loves our Colorado mountains: for her card, I created a mountain scene in the shape of a hand. The teal color matches all her hiking gear, too!
Sofi is one of the sweetest and kindest people I have met out here, and I hope this year brings her all kinds of adventures and happiness!

Name Card

For: Julie
Occasion: her birthday

Julie is in China teaching English, and I didn't get her address until after her birthday had passed! I decided to make a card that was not day specific and simply celebrates Julie! Her name is written in old-timey script and watercolored with blue polka dots.

I hope Julie enjoyed her birthday and is having a great time in China!

Stay Strong Card

A good friend was in the hospital for a while, so I created an extreme recovery card! The "get well soon" message is crossed out and graffiti-ed over by a more apt "stay strong." I hope he heals up quick and gets back to the mountains soon!

Butterfly Birthday

 For: Danielle
Occasion: her first birthday

My spirit niece turned one this week! Her birthday party was butterfly-themed, so Auntie Walsh created this whimsical flutterby for her. I love my Bee so much and am so thankful for the year of smiles and giggles. Can't wait to see what adventures this next year brings!

Peacock Feather Birthday

For: Ames
Occasion: her birthday

Amy loves peacocks, so for her birthday card this year, I drew a proud peacock with a "Happy Birthday" message in its feathers. Ames's favorite color is blue too, so I got to use all kinds of shades and hues to pull this card together. All in all, it's a very Amy card, and I'm really happy with it!

I hope my dear sister has a great day and has enjoyed her first quarter-century!

This American Birthday

For: Ira Glass
Occasion: his birthday

I am a big fan of Ira Glass and his radio show, This American Life. To share my civilian love, I made Ira a birthday card featuring a view from his characteristic, black frame glasses.

Whether the card ever finds its way to him (I sent it to TAL's snail mail address), I hope Ira has a great day!
