Birdie Engagement

For: Molly and Barry
Occasion: their engagement

Molly and Barry are engaged! To celebrate their happiness, I drew them a picture of pretty pink birds who are so clearly in love with each other. I am so happy for Molls and I can't wait for their happily ever after!

Sun Baby Shower

For: Aimee
Occasion: baby shower

Aimee and Scott's little sunshine is almost here! To follow the nursery and shower theme of weather, I did a drawing of a really happy sun. I had such a great time celebrating the little miss--I can't wait to meet her in just a few (but not too few!) short weeks.

HufflePuffin Birthday

For: Twin
Occasion: our birthday

Twin is re-reading Harry Potter, and given that the series provides a lot of comfort and joy, I took our birthday as an opportunity to make one snuggly change to the mythos: I've never liked that the Hufflepuff mascot was a badger, when it so clearly needs to be something more cute and cuddly! Voila: the Hufflepuffin, wearing the appropriate scarf and toting a wand. I adore my twin so, so much and wish we could make everything cozy together and snuggle all the time! Here's to another year of going to bed early.

Sprout New Baby

For: Twin and Nathan
Occasion: New Baby

To celebrate that Curry Sprout #2 is on his way (ETA March!), I did a drawing of a little bud stretching and smiling in a decorative pot. Twin and Nathan are such great parents--I can't wait to be Aunty Twin to another little one!

Arrow Birthday

For: Bridget
Occasion: her birthday

For Bridget's birthday card, I did a pen-drawing of a swirly arrow (arrows appear to be all the rage these days!) and paired it with her name. In the background, I used different shades of green colored pencils to create a pattern -- I don't know that I've ever done an ombre background like that in my 10 years of cards! I hope Bridge has a great birthday that is full of creative surprises and fun!

Baseball Birthday

For: Uncle Greg
Occasion: his birthday

To celebrate Uncle Greg's birthday, I did an illustration of an old-timey baseball player stretching out for a catch in the outfield in front of an old-timey sign. I am really pleased with how the colors worked out (gotta love a bright, cyan sky!) and hope Uncle Greg enjoyed his day.

Happy Clouds Birthday

For: Sarah
Occasion: her birthday

For Sarah's birthday card, I drew the happiest happies that I could, which of course includes a cloud using a rainbow as a jumprope! Sarah is one of the most positive people I've ever known, and boy-oh-boy could she use a great year. I hope she has a wonderful day and has some fun on her next trip around the sun!

Cool Treats Birthday

For: Mike
Occasion: his birthday

Mike has had quite the repertoire of tasty frozen treats this summer, so to celebrate his birthday, I did a drawing of all his chilly favorite snacks! From left to right, we have a strawberry shortcake bar, a watermelon boom pop, a chocolate-covered frozen banana, and a mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich. I'm glad Mike has gotten so much enjoyment of trying out all the different delicacies our Safeway can provide--here's hoping his next year is as cool as he is!

High Five Get Well Soon

For: A Custom Order
Occasion: Get Well Soon

Someone online reached out to me to make her husband a get well soon card due to a hand surgery. She let me know that his pinky has been stuck his entire life and is about to be corrected -- after we exchanged some ideas, I landed on this idea of a pseudo movie poster, featuring "The First High Five" and the gag that it's coming Fall 2019. I really liked how it turned out, and so did the orderer! So much so that when she spilled coffee on the original, she asked me to remake the card, which I was happy to do!

I'm always happy to try to come up with a custom card for your custom situation--email us at debbie.dots.greeting.cards@gmail.com to get your own unique card!
