Robot Birthday

 For: Alex
Occasion: his birthday

For Alex's birthday card, I made a shiny robot holding a cake and balloon with a binary "Happy Birthday" message running in the background! Well, it's probably actually "Happy Birthday Happy Bir" due to the space. Anyway, it was so nice to briefly see Alex so close to his birthday--I hope this year is the best one yet!

Cats Birthday

 For: Jessica
Occasion: her birthday

To celebrate my favorite cat lady's birthday, I did an illustration of Jess's two kitties! I had such a good time studying their little faces and spots and trying to get the whiskers right. Look at these two -- are you kidding? I hope they looked at their mom just like this on her big day!

Good Place Birthday

 For: Aunt Sioux
Occasion: her birthday

Aunt Sioux is a The Good Place fan, so for her birthday card, I did an illustration of Michael's mid-life crisis: "Birth is a curse and existence is a prison." It is such a great show, and I was so happy to be able to feature it in a card for my dear Aunt! I'm so glad she had a lovely birthday and it was awesome to see her so close to the big day.

I had all the fun in the world hanging out with this little guy over his birthday week and I love him so much I can't handle it. I hope he has the best year ever and I can't wait to see him again soon!

For my Mother-in-law's birthday, I did a paper collage of her and my father-in-law dancing the night away! I had a lot of fun cutting out the different pieces to get the movement and energy of this card all together. I hope she has a wonderful birthday and is ready for another great year!

A relative had heart surgery recently, so to wish him a speedy recovery, I created a 3D heart (on a paper spring) for a fun Get Well Soon card. Surgery is never fun, so I hope he's resting up and ready to be up and at 'em again soon!

Mother's Day Spa

 For: Janet
Occasion: Mother's Day

To wish my Mother-in-law a happy mother's day, I did a quick illustration of her wrapped up and enjoying a spa day with cucumbers on her eyes and a fruity beverage in hand! I know preparing for the journey up north isn't the most relaxing experience, so I hope once she arrives safely she's able to unwind a bit. How lovely that she will get to see most of the children and grandkids on the trip!

Laundry Mother's Day

 For: Mom
Occasion: Mother's Day

To celebrate Mother's day and pay homage to a ridiculous amount of laundry done before we all took over our own, I did an illustration of a laundry machine sudsing with the text "Love You Loads!" I have lots of memories of folding laundry with Mom in the living room, and I fully appreciate the efforts now, though I'm sure it escaped me at the time. Here's hoping the laundry is more manageable now!

Petal Birthday

 For: Liz
Occasion: her birthday

Liz is super creative, and so for her birthday card, I made an illustration of a lady with an elaborate petal hair piece in purple monochrome, minus silver and gold. I hope this next year is a great one for Liz and crew!
