Text Cake Birthday

For: Jackie
Occasion: her birthday

For Jackie's card, I created a cake out of the letters of her name with a line of candles on top. I used bright plaid backgrounds (which Jackie gave me for Christmas a few years ago) to make the card colorful and happy!

On the inside, the candles are blown out, and presumably a wish has been made! The cake text reads "Hope all your dreams come true!"

I miss Jackie so much and hope she has a great birthday!

Alliteration Band Birthday

For: Joe
Occasion: his birthday

Joe is a wearer of band t-shirts. And Aviators. And green. For his card, I created a fictional band, "Jaywalk Journey" because Joe also likes alliteration, and a band t-shirt that is green with aviators on the collar.

On the inside, I created a record whose songs are a birthday wish: "Joe Hope Your Day Is Full Of Awesome Alliteration And Good Music."
This card was fun to make, and I hope Joe enjoys his birthday!

Tomato Vine Birthday

For: Lydia
Occasion: her birthday

My cousin Lydia grows her own tomatoes! For her card, I created a tomato plant with a vine that has her name in it. The vine reads "Lydia" with a tomato as the A.

On the inside, the vine writing continues, this time saying "Happy Birthday." I hope Lyds has a great day is nourishing her green thumb for spring!

Greek Birthday

For: Joanna
Occasion: her birthday

For Joanna's card, I created an aerial view of a Greek birthday cake. The text reads "Hronia Polla" which translates to "a wish to live many years."

On the inside, the missing piece is ready to be served on a cake plate.

I hope Joanna has a great day and an even better vacation!

Squirrel Truce Birthday

For: Grandma Carol
Occasion: her birthday

My grandma loves to garden but her efforts are frequently thwarted by various Rodentia--namely, the squirrel! Featured here is an Eastern Gray Squirrel who just looks like he is up to something. The text reads, "This year, let's try something different..."

"Truce?" The squirrel has a peace offering in the form of a flower and is also wearing a party hat--he looks pretty sincere, right?

I hope Grandma has a great day and that this squirrel keeps his promise come springtime!

Indoor Soccer Birthday

For: Britney
Occasion: her birthday

Britney is the captain of our soccer team. For her card, I drew her in her gear (note the green and black indoor shoes!) balancing a birthday cake and gearing up for what will likely be an awesome play.

On the inside, it is an awesome play! She scores on an open goal and wins the championship for us (which definitely is foreshadowing for next week).
It's been great getting to know Britney and I hope she has an awesome day!

Watercolor Cake Birthday

For: Uncle Vince
Occasion: his birthday

For this card, I wanted to play around with pen sketches and water color, so I created a birthday cake with a slice cut out! The overall effect looks really neat, and I am very pleased with the sketchy, unfinished feel.

My uncle is a awesome, and it was great to see him at Christmas and talk shop!
