Father's Day Calculator

 For: Dad
Occasion: Father's Day

My dad recently shared that he likely changed the batteries on his calculator for the last time of his career (in hopes to retire soon!). To celebrate this beautiful fact and celebrate how great of a dad he is, I made this calculator-themed Father's day card: "According to my calculations, you are the best dad!"
The most delightful easter egg in any card in recent memory is that the 7718 in the calculator screen reads Bill when upside-down. I am so pleased with myself I could giggle until retirement day arrives.

Father's Day Hammer

 For: Dad
Occasion: Father's Day

Okay, this idea is so delightful -- I love how it relies on the popular conception of a father teaching about tools, adds in a pun, and then metallic markers to boot! "This is not a drill. Happy Father's Day!" I love my dad to the mood and back and appreciate all his guidance over the years, tool-related and otherwise.

Air Balloon Father's Day

 For: Dad
Occasion: Father's Day

My dad and I have hashed another plan to go on a hot air balloon trip over the Rockies (not all of them, but a few for some cool views)! To honor and solidify this intention, for his Father's Day card this year I did an illustration of a hot air balloon high in the clouds with the text "Out of this World Dad!" My dad is a truly excellent father and I am always honored to be his daughter.

River Father's Day

 For: Dan
Occasion: Father's Day

To wish Dan a Happy Father's Day, I did a colored pencil illustration of the beautiful St. Lawrence River. I have the best father-in-law a gal could ask for and wanted to make something extra special for him this year. I cannot wait to join the fam up north for some family time and R and R next month!

Strongman Tattoo Father's Day

 For: Dad
Occasion: Father's Day

As a nod to my getting tattoos this year, I did a watercolor of a strongman who has "Dad" tattooed in a heart with an arrow through it for my Dad's Father's Day card. I adore my Dad and it's always fun to see him when I can and chat on Sundays!

Crossword Father's Day

 For: Dan
Occasion: Father's Day

For Dan's Father's Day card, I made a crossword grid with words intersecting: Happy, Fathers, Day, and Dan. I enjoyed the challenge of making the lines and boxes and am overall just pleased with how the card turned out. I can't wait to see Dan again soon!

Father's Day Hat

 For: Dad
Occasion: Father's Day

My dad had a hat while I was growing up that said "Father of Twins" with two little blue figures on it. I was always fascinated with the hat (as one of the twins), but to honor Dad's entire parenting journey, I created a variation of that iconic hat that says, "Happy Father's Day!" with three little figures on it. It was a treat to talk with Dad today, and I hope he feels celebrated today and every day.

Grill Father's Day

 For: Dan
Occasion: Father's Day

To help Dan celebrate Father's Day, I did an illustration of a grill (with some pretty out of control flames!). Dan is a grill master (Spiedies, anyone?!) and I can't wait to join the Keane clan in a few weeks for lots of family dinners.

Star-gazing Father's Day

 For: Dad
Occasion: Father's Day

My dad got a telescope with which to chart the stars! For his Father's Day card, I did a paper silhouette of Dad and one of his kids (is it meeee?) peering through a telescope into the swirling stars. Wouldn't you know they spell out Dad? I've had a lot of fun being privy to a few astronomical events with my pops this year and I hope the stars align so he can have a great day!

Mowing Father's Day

For: My dad
Occasion: Father's Day

My dad recently got a new lawn mower that is a super-light high-tech almost space machine of grass-clipping power! To help him celebrate Father's Day, I imagined him cutting "Dad" into the lawn just for fun. I adore my dad so, and can't wait until I can see him again soon!

Father's Day Crossword

For: Dan
Occasion: Father's Day

Dan is an avid do-er of crosswords, so for his Father's Day card this year, I featured a puzzle and linked together the words "Happy," "Fathers," and "Day!" I am really pleased with how this card turned out, and I hope the Keane Paterfamilias had a wonderful day.

Popsicle Father's Day

 For: Nathan
Occasion: Father's Day

To help Nathan celebrate Father's Day this year, I made a drawing of double popsicles to represent his two sons--Adam and Owen! Paired with a "Hey, Pops!" message, this is a pretty clever card idea, if I do say so myself. I hope Nathan had a lovely day and got to enjoy some tasty treats!

Sandhill Crane Father's Day

For: My Dad
Occasion: Father's Day

For my dad's Father's Day card, I did a papercut of a Sandhill Crane, the most important bird to the Lombard Walsh clan. I really love how hopeful and majestic the crane looks. My dad is the very best dad and I hope he felt the love this Father's Day.

Cheers Father's Day

For: Mark
Occasion: Father's Day

Since Mark is a new father of twins, I created this playful illustration to help him celebrate his first Father's Day (which I'm sure could not include a break from feeding). The font is based off the TV show Cheers sign and the bottles are just funny. I hope the first few months of parenting have been great and I can't wait to meet the little guys!

Fish Father's Day

For: Dan
Occasion: Father's Day

Dan is up at The River again this year, and apparently the water is super high! To celebrate Father's Day, I did a drawing of several brightly colored fish all coming together, presumably to nab a bit of food on the end of a line. I could not have asked for a better father-in-law, and I hope Dan felt appropriately celebrated today!

Super Hero Father's Day

For: Nathan
Occasion: Father's Day

For Nathan's Father's Day card, I did my best to have a comic book-style "Ka-Pow!" or "Wazap!" type illustration around the "Happy Father's Day!" message. I think it turned out pretty well and hope Nathan enjoyed his special day.

Father's Day Golf

For: Dan
Occasion: Father's Day

For my f-i-l's Father's Day card, I did a watercolor of a golf bag with a few clubs that read "happy father's day!" Dan is a big golfer, and I was feeling orange-y that day, so here's the result! I am glad Dan had a wonderful time in France, but I do like knowing that he and Janet are on the same continent!

Spider Father's Day

For: My dad
Occasion: Father's Day

To celebrate my dear dad this Father's Day, I did a watercolor of a spider trapped in a glass! The text reads "Dad, thanks for everything." My dad is one of those dads that can and will do everything for his daughters, including trap the scary bugs. It's no secret that I adore my father, and I'm so glad he's back on the continent--I always feel better when he's just a call away!

Star Wars Father's Day

For: Nathan
Occasion: Father's Day

To celebrate Nathan's first ever father's day, I created this delightful watercolor illustration of him wearing a Star Wars t-shirt and a Darth Vader mask while holding baby Adam, who's swaddled in a Jedi outfit. I love love love love how this card turned out, and I am so excited to see how fantastic of a dad Nathan will be to Adam--no dark side affiliations here!

Father's Day Red Wing Black Bird

For: My dad
Occasion: Father's Day

My dad is really interested in red wing black birds at the moment, so to wish him a happy Father's Day this year, I designed and illustrated him his very own bird! I love the white accent lines around the feathers and the overall style of the card. I love my dad so much it's truly ridiculous and I cannot wait to see him in just over a month!
