Graduation Glasses

Ells both has the coolest glasses AND graduated with her Master's! To celebrate both cool facts, I did an illustration of Ells in a cap and gown with her fantastic purple hair and her glasses reading "Congrats Elly!!!" I think this card is the most fun and I hope she is so proud of all she has accomplished!


Hat Graduation

Occasion: her graduation


Riley graduated college! To celebrate this monumental achievement, I did an illustration of a Michigan State-colored mortarboard and tassel with the fun text of "that hat tho." It's so cool I can just barely stand it. I hope Riley is super proud of her hard work and ready to take on her bright future!

To help Kevin celebrate his big day, I drew an illustration of him carrying the world's largest glass of beer! I love his little character and the party hat! I had such a great time celebrating Kevin's big day with a race and then a rooftop hang. I cannot wait to see what this year will bring!

My neighbor asked me to make a birthday card for his girlfriend, Angie, and offered some photos of her cat as inspiration! I was struck by the cat's sweet blue eyes and painted him wearing a party hat. I love how this card turned out and hope it helped Angie have a great day!

I've been thinking about bees a lot lately, so to help celebrate Aunt Lauren's birthday I drew a sweet little bee friend holding a cake and party hat and paired the entire design with a "Happy 'Bee' Day!" pun. I hope she has a wonderful birthday and is enjoying all the delights of spring!

My dad has always been a big Beatles fan, and this year is finally the year when the famous song makes sense! "Will you still need me?" and "Will you still feed me?" surround a beautiful filigree 64 in this lovely design for my dear Dad. I hope he has an amazing day and is looking forward to all the gifts of this incredible age!

Maxwell is an entire year older! To celebrate his birthday, I created a goofy design of a bird wearing both a hiking pack and a party hat. I hope Maxwell gets to see and explore many cool things this year!

I have so enjoyed getting to catch up with Julie briefly over email and I hope she has an amazing year as her research gets closer to becoming a reality!

To celebrate Sweet O's birthday, I used whatever engineering knowledge I had to design the letters of his name! O is a gear, W a collection of wrenches, E an excavator and the N a grouping for bridge girders. There are some subtle blueprint lines in the background as well. I love Owie so much and hope his birthday builds into a great year!

Adam sets me a challenge every year for his birthday card. This year, he built a spa in his backyard and asked me to feature him melting in his spa. The result of that request is this brilliant card with him sweating away with temps so hot the thermometer is dripping away! I love how this card turned out and hope to see him soon!

Dougie turned 40 with a bowling birthday party! To celebrate the big day, I made him a bowling card full of puns -- "Bowl out your candles -- Make a wish!" I love this card concept and how the colors all play off each other. The bowling party was so fun and I hope this next decade is the best yet!

For Amy's birthday card, I did a watercolor illustration of leaf shapes forming a moon along with block letters filled with stars (and the As are all stars, too). I used a sparkly feather paper background to mix together the feathery feel with the celestial. I love Ames so and hope she has the best day and year!

Chas is an amazing counselor and also loves bears! To mix these two ideas together in a creative way, I drew a bear inside a skull with the parenthetical "Bear in mind." Adam is reading so much and is so into Harry Potter! For his valentine, I drew him as a wizard in Ravenclaw colors and used some themed font for the message: "Adam, you've put a spell on me!" I cannot wait to get another letter about all his Harry Potter knowledge soon!

Owie loves the Olympics! For his valentine this year, I drew the Olympic rings in hearts and added the sweet message: "You have a heart of gold!" I love adding in the metallic marker to give it some extra shine. I hope Owen will always be my valentine!

Christy and Nathan are an orange and blue couple if there ever was one! For their Valentine this year, I drew them each as half a heart in their favorite colors hugging each other so sweetly. This card features Twin's new haircut and I just love their love so much. I hope they had a great day celebrating together!

For my parent's valentine this year, I drew two wormies making a heart shape with the pun "soil mates"! My mom is an epic gardener and my dad helped her build up the structure of her garden. I love how the hearts in this are brown instead of red. I hope the 'rentals have a lovely time celebrating love day!

Family Baby Shower

To celebrate the baby shower and Mexico sendoff, I created an elaborate card for the cutest couple in all of Denver! The front features Shelsea very pregnant and ready to pop.


The inside shows big brother Joaquin on a bike and Brice pushing the new baby in a stroller that matches Shelsea's dress! This is one of my favorite most elaborate card folds in the Dots enterprise, and I am so delighted that they enjoyed the card so well! I will miss them so but cannot wait to reconnect in the spring and meet the bundle!
