Ruby Anniversary

My parentals have traversed the quite impressive "married for 40 years" benchmark! To celebrate their achievement in love, I created a ruby-themed card (with gold accents)! I hope they had the best time on their trip to celebrate and hope their love endures for decades and decades more.

Sudoku Anniversary

 For: Michael
Occasion: our dating anniversary

Michael has become a sudoku master! For our 11th anniversary of our first date, I created a sudoku board in the shape of a heart. I am so pleased with this card and am forever delighted to celebrate fun moments in our relationship!

Tree Anniversary

To help Mike and I celebrate our five year wedding anniversary, I featured this iconic (though not very stewardly) image of initials carved into an aspen tree trunk. I love how it turned out and cannot believe we tied the proverbial knot so many years ago! 

10 Year Roller Coaster

Occasion: Our Dating Anniversary 

Mike and I have been together for an entire decade! To celebrate, I updated last year's hit illustration of the two of us by placing us on a roller coaster in car number 10. It's been a wild ride, and I'm so happy that we have been able to have fun together!

Coffee Anniversary

 For: Michael
Occasion: our Anniversary

To celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary, I made Michael a card featuring a to-go cup of coffee from our local coffee joint with some heart-shaped steam. The simple day-to-day of our life together is wonderful, and it was nice to feature one piece of it in this year's anniversary card. Here's to many more coffee walks in our neighborhood together!

Golden Anniversary Invites

To help celebrate the monumental feat that is 50 years of marriage, I made invitations for the big anniversary party! I loved using golds and yellows to help make the invitations formal, but fun. It was a treat to share my art with the larger Keane sphere,  and we had such a great time celebrating (venue change, schmenu change!). 

Golden Anniversary

 For: Dan and Janet
Occasion: their 50th anniversary

We had a fabulous time celebrating my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary at The River, and to help mark the occasion, I made this card with all the golds I have access to! I love that it came out with a 70s vibe (which happens when you mix greens and golds!). I have loved witnessing Dan and Janet's love for each other, and I hope they have many more happy years together. 

Anniversary Squeeze

Occasion: 9 year dating-i-versary

Mike foolishly thinks that since we are married, we no longer have to celebrate our dating anniversary. He is wrong of course, so I made him a card featuring an illustration of how we both feel about this holiday in our relationship. Here's to many more years of dating!

3 Heart Anniversary

For: Michael
Occasion: Our Anniversary

Mike and I have been married for (just about) three years! We celebrated early with a fancy dinner and homemade cards. I painted him the angle bracket 3 heart to commemorate the three years we have spent together as a married couple (how could I not?). I love Mike so much and cannot believe all that's happened in these past three years. Here's to the future together!

 

8 Years to Infinity

Occasion: Our Eight year dating-i-versary

Mike and I have been a couple for eight years now! To celebrate the eighth anniversary of our first date, I drew silhouettes of us in each other's arms, with me knocking down an 8 statue so that it becomes an infinity statue! Because why not? I admit the concept is elaborate, but it almost works. Good thing I'll have forever to fine tune it!

Anniversary Gazing

Occasion: Our Anniversary

To celebrate our second wedding anniversary, I imagined Mike and I snuggled up on a hillside and stargazing! I used Posca pen paint on dark cardstock to create this look, and am pretty pleased with how it turned out. We could not have imagined what these last two years brought -- surgeries, pandemic, yeesh! The idea behind this card was to show our togetherness and looking forward to whatever comes next. There's no one I'd rather have at my side contemplating the mysteries of the Universe.

7 Year Itch-iversary

For: Mike
Occasion: our dating anniversary

Mike and I have been together for seven years now! That is mind-boggling and wonderful, so to celebrate this accomplishment, I did a cartoon of the two of us scratching  7-year itches. Of course, we've only been married for just over a year, so we've got a while before the "real" seven year itch strikes--but these first seven have been lots of goofy fun!

Papercut Mountain Anniversary

For: Mike
Occasion: Our Anniversary

To celebrate our first wedding anniversary in the traditional paper style, I did an elaborate paper-cut of mountains featuring a heart with our initials in it, trees, and flowers. I then pasted in a swirly purple sky, blue mountains, a pink heart, and a floral pattern. This was so much fun to make and took some time to make happen. I love Michael so much and have enjoyed the journey of the last year--here's to many more!

Data Anniversary

For: Michael
Occasion: Our Anniversary

Mike and I have been dating for over 6 years now, so to celebrate our dating anniversary, I did a drawing of Data from TNG (which we have been watching furiously) providing calculations of our time together: "In reference to your recent calculation, you have bene an Earth couple for exactly 2,190 days, or 52560 hours, or 3.154e^+6 minutes, which is exactly 1.892e^+8 seconds." I am a big fan of this card, and I'm a big fan of Mike too! Here's to the next 1.892e^+8 seconds as an Earth couple. 

High Five Anniversary

For: Michael
Occasion: Our 5th Anniversary

To celebrate our fifth anniversary, I featured a staple of our relationship: the high five. We both have goofy balloon hands because obviously. The "High 5!" font is reminiscent of a dating anniversary we have in our house that has been updated since year 2ish, I believe--it has read "Happy 3.75!" and other such specific increments. I love Mike so much and can't believe it's already been and only been five years!

Pre-versary Sand Timer

For: Michael
Occasion: Our Pre-versary

Michael and I are getting married a year from today, and to celebrate what I'm calling our "pre-versary" I made this silly card for him. It features a sand timer with sand in a heart shape and a lovely message: "one ear until FOREVER." I love Mike so much and can't wait to be legally bound together. 

Great British Bake Off Anniversary

For: Mike
Occasion: Our Anniversary

Mike and I recently discovered The Great British Bake Off  and we quickly fell in love. So to celebrate our 4th anniversary, I did an illustration of Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry critiquing a cake in the shape of a beet, which is the idiosyncratic symbol of our love. Paul is not impressed: "You had four years for this challenge. I'm not seeing where the time has gone." Mary is much sweeter, however: "I think it's just lovely!" I giggled for a week about this card and love how it turned out. I love Mike more, as it turns out, and am looking forward to more silly shows as the years go by. 

Three Pointer Anniversary

Occasion: Our Anniversary

Mike and I have been together for three years, and coincidentally have been watching a lot of basketball lately, so for our anniversary card, Mike is about to sink a heart-shaped ball from the three-point line! "Keane for 3" is booming out over the loudspeaker and Mike is wearing his lucky maroon shorts. I love him so much and can't wait for many more years together. 

Oprah Anniversary

For: Jess to give to O'Shea
Occasion: their anniversary

Jess asked me to make a card to help celebrate their three year anniversary with some simple guidelines: make it say "I love you more than Oprah loves bread." Challenge accepted: I borrowed the caricature styles of Kristen Ulve and created an Oprah hugging a loaf of bread. Popped in the text, borrowed Oprah's signature, and ta-da! I could not be happier with how this card turned out and I'm glad Jess liked it too! I hope they had a lovely anniversary--here's to many more!

Heart Anniversary

For: Sofi and Paul
Occasion: their anniversary

Sofi and Paul got married last year, and to help them celebrate the paper anniversary, I created a card featuring a fun wordy background. The text is the definitions of three words, "one," "year," and "ago." I love this design, obviously, and also love how I got to use the colors that stand out most from their wedding: a cerulean sky with golden aspen leaves. I miss them both and hope they enjoyed their anniversary!
