Halloween Eyes

 For: Adam and Owen
Occasion: Halloween

For Adam and Owen's Halloween card this year, I fit in as many spooky eyes as I could! Every letter of "Happy Halloween" has a pair (and it's laid out in a Jack-o-lantern shape) along with a handful of other watching creatures. I hear they counted the total number of eyes, which delights me to no end -- Auntie Twin loves educational cards! Here's hoping the little nephs have the best day ever!

Wine Balloon Birthday

 For: Alyssa
Occasion: her birthday

For Alyssa's birthday, I drew her a collection of wine glasses as balloons! I think this card is a super fun concept, and I enjoyed filling the wine glasses with different colors and then giving them some shine. I hope Alyssa has a wonderful day and gets to relax and celebrate!

Desert Collage Birthday

 For: Theresa
Occasion: her birthday

Theresa loves to do soul collage and recently moved to New Mexico! For her birthday card this year, I tried out some collage of my own, playing with a hiking boot, hat, cat, bird, light heart, desert heart and crane. It was a total blast making this card, and I hope Theresa has an amazing year of adventure and exploration!

Blackjack Birthday

For: Uncle Jim
Occasion: his birthday

Uncle Jim taught me Blackjack over the summer, so for his birthday card I made some playing cards featuring a wining hand -- an Ace and a King (in the heart suit for love, of course!). After I dropped the card in the mail, I realized I could have used a Jack, which would have made sense with his initials -- as with gambling and card-making, you live and learn!

Robot Birthday

For: Tom
Occasion: his birthday

For Tom's birthday card, I drew a robot serenading him with a birthday song: "Happy Birthday, Dear Tom-Tom!" As ever, I appreciate the absurdity of Tom's cards and have so appreciated that we have gotten to see each other as much as we have in the past few years -- here's hoping to more visits this year!

 

Birth-month Birthday

 For: Lidia
Occasion: her birthday

To help Lidia celebrate her birthday, I made a card honoring the entire month! The text reads, "Happy Birth-day Month!" with 'day' crossed out. It was such a treat to see Lidia during the birth month and help celebrate with her!

Bubble Hair Birthday

 For: Daissy
Occasion: her birthday

For Daissy's birthday card, I tried out a different illustration style and used lots of little circles to try to capture her curly hair! There's a mixture of calm and energy in this card that is really interesting to me...I hope Daissy has that kind of year in the perfect ratio!

Monster Birthday

 For: Chris
Occasion: his birthday

For Chris's birthday card this year, I drew a sweet little monster on his way to a birthday party on a bike with a bushel of balloons! I really love how the balloons interact, with the red and teal overlaying to a purple and it all matches the bike and hat and hooray! Here's hoping Chris has a wonderful day. 

Taskmaster Birthday

Occasion: her birthday

Marie is a superfan of the greatest show ever: Taskmaster! To celebrate her birthday, I created a birthday card in the form of an iconic task with the TM red seal. I love the unique card fold to pull this off!

On the inside, the task: Have a great birthday. Your time starts now. I hope Marie has an amazing day and that this year is full of lots of laughter and silliness!

Golf Birthday

 For: Johnson
Occasion: his birthday

Johnson loves golf, so for his birthday card I did a simple collage with a goofy pun: "Have a Tee-rific birthday!" I miss Johnson a lot and hope life in Ohio is even more delightful than he could have dreamt!

K Birthday

 For: Krystina
Occasion: her birthday

For Krystina's birthday card, I did a colorful illustration of a K! I really think Krystina is just the best and am hoping she enjoyed these colors, the card, and has a wonderful day!

Colorado Birthday

 For: Conor
Occasion: his birthday

For Conor's birthday card, I did an adaptation of the Colorado flag and updated it with an "nor" to spell Conor! I am forever delighted that Conor and I share a state now, and hope we get to enjoy Colorful Colorado together soon!

Birdie Invites

I was honored to be asked to do Mollie and Colin's wedding invites for their big day! Mollie is a big fan of my watercolors, and after a few convos about what they were hoping for, we landed on this sweet image of the happy couple mirrored by the two birds on the branch. I love these invites and was so happy to hear that the guests loved them, too!

To congratulate Mollie and Colin on their wedding day, I did a watercolor of two sparrows circling each other. I used this rich emeraldy/foresty green prominently (their wedding color!) and really just enjoyed creating this for my dear friends. Check out their wedding invites above!

Guitar Birthday

Twin's coworker Jordan is a wonderful human, and I really enjoy our nearly annual coffee dates! To celebrate his birthday, I did a mixed media collage to create a guitar with a Debbie Dots first: unstrung twine as guitar strings! It was so lovely to laugh with Jordan on his big day and I hope this next year is incredible!

Balloon Dog Birthday

 For: Dare
Occasion: his birthday

To celebrate Dare's birthday, I did a watercolor illustration of two balloon dogs that must be filled with helium to fly that high! They are meant to be representations of the two Hoffmeister pups. I miss Dare a lot and hope he had a wonderful day!

Shiny Birthday

 For: Aunt Sherry
Occasion: her birthday

For Aunt Sherry's birthday card, I used a shiny gold marker to spell out "Happy Birthday!" in a fun font and then embellished it with white polka dots and circles. I really like how this turned out, and hope Aunt Sherry has the very best day!
