Two Onesies Congrats

 For: Marie and Matt
Occasion: New Babies

Marie and Matt welcomed twinsies into their family, and so to help celebrate, I did an illustration of reverse-matching onesies -- one is green with a purple heart and the other is purple with a green heart! Twins are just the most amazing bundle of tons of work, and I hope I can come meet the whole family soon!

Mobile New Baby

 For: The Fecamis
Occasion: New Baby

To help Lidia celebrate the birth of her daughter, I created an illustration of a simple mobile with the letters of the sweet girl's name: Georgia! There's also a heart and a bear to keep it all balanced. I hope Lids is doing great and enjoying her family!

Word Search Thank You

For: Uncle Jim and Aunt Joan
Occasion: Thank You

My aunt and uncle stopped by Denver twice on their way to and from a summer vacation, and it was a real treat! To thank them for the laughs, dinners, and teaching me blackjack, I sent them this simple Thank You card featuring a word search with Thank You Very Much circled -- other words include "major," "black," "jack," and "laugh." I hope the rest of their summer was amazing!

Wish Birthday

 For: Jimmy
Occasion: his birthday

For Jimmy's birthday card, I used my white pen to create a sweet little creature captured in the moment of blowing out a birthday candle on his cupcake. The text reads, "make a wish"! I hope Jimmy had an amazing birthday and that this next year is an incredible one!

Shoe Birthday

 For: Sandie
Occasion: her birthday

Sandie loves shoes! For her birthday card, I did a watercolor illustration of a delightful pair of pumps in blue with purple bows on them. The tag reads "Happy B-Day" with a big red heart. I love how playful this card is and am hoping Sandie has the very best year that she's had in a long time!

Dreamer Birthday

 For: Molly
Occasion: her birthday

Molly has a signature hairstyle, so to celebrate her birthday this year, I did a watercolor illustration of her with half her hair as a starlight sky and the other half a blue sky with whimsical clouds. I am hoping Molly has a whimsical day and a wonderful year.

Skyline Birthday

 For: Uncle Joel
Occasion: his birthday

Uncle Joel is a Chicago guy through and through! To help him celebrate his birthday, I did a view of a city's skyscrapers from below, as though the buildings create a canopy! I really, really had a great time creating this card and hope it added some fun to his day.

Balloon Birthday

 For: Mari
Occasion: her birthday

To help Mari celebrate her birthday, I did a watercolor illustration of a sunset over the ocean in a balloon! I really love the idea of this card and hope Mari had a wonderful time celebrating. I'm looking forward to our next email exchange!

Thousand Island Thank You

 For: The Keanes
Occasion: Thank You

To thank the Keanes for hosting another lovely family week at the Thousand Islands, I continued my growing Thank You card series featuring one of the iconic buildings of the park. This year, it's The Tabernacle! Many of the family went to a concert after Michael and I arrived, and it was a really lovely experience. Though the building is somewhat plain, I had a lovely time jazzing up some watercolor details of the trees and flowers. I had an even lovelier time spending the week with the fam!

Elephant Thank You

 For: Danielle
Occasion: Thank You

To thank Danielle for her awesome gifties, I made an elephant wearing the light-up butterfly glasses that were part of the spread! It was so sweet of Danielle to send me a care package. I hope she is doing great and I can't wait to see her soon!

Cake Birthday

 For: Violeta
Occasion: her birthday

Violeta makes the most incredible cakes! For her card this year, I did some super modern/vintage color blocking with detailed pen on top that gives the purple cake its pop! I really had fun playing with this idea and hope it brought some joy to Violeta's day!

Camera Birthday

 For: Mollie
Occasion: her birthday

Mollie has gotten really into photography the last few years, so for her birthday card I did a watercolor illustration of some hands adjusting a lens to get a picture of a birthday cake just right! I love the reflection in the lens on this--and that the hands themselves are recognizable as hands (not the easiest things in the world to get right). More than any of that though, I miss Mollie bunches and can't wait to see her soon!
